About Listing Photo Lab
Listing Photo Lab is a free guide to photographing used items for eBay listings, published by the team behind FlowLister. FlowLister writes eBay listings from item photos, which is why we care about the photos more than is strictly normal.
Who publishes Listing Photo Lab?
The team behind FlowLister, AI eBay listing software that turns item photos into complete eBay listings. It writes the title, description, category, item specifics, price and shipping in about 30 seconds, prices each item from recent eBay sold comps, and publishes to eBay through eBay's official Trading API. It's AI, so it misses things. Because FlowLister works from photos, a clear photo helps it and a blurry one doesn't.
Where do the facts on this site come from?
From three places, named on the page where each is used. Every eBay rule comes from eBay's own help, policy, fee and Seller Center pages, linked and dated. A few facts come from other named sources: Value Added Resource for the reports of a 40-photo limit, and Apple's support pages for the High Efficiency setting and iPhone photo sizes. The rest is standard photography practice: soft light, side light for texture, a steady camera.
What position does this site take?
We push hard on disclosure, on photographing flaws clearly, and on editing that makes a photo look more like the item, not better than it. That's a position, not a neutral stance: presentation should be good and description should be accurate, and the two don't conflict.
How is this content made?
- No affiliate links to equipment, no sponsored gear, no paid placements. The site recommends a window and a piece of card, which nobody pays us for.
- No invented statistics. Where a page says something helps, it explains the mechanism or links the source.
- Pages are drafted with AI help from the sources they name, and every eBay rule is checked against its source page on the date shown.
- The eBay photo rules page links every rule to the eBay page it came from, with the date it was checked, and the other guides name or point to that page where they use a rule. eBay changes its pages, so tell us when one of ours falls behind.
- FlowLister is linked once per page: in the labelled disclosure block on every guide, and in the first section of this page. Some pages also name it in plain text where it's relevant, marked as ours.
How do you report an error?
Send corrections through the contact page at flowlister.com/contact/. Errors in eBay's rules are the most useful ones to hear about, because they go stale first.
